Kiesza Honors a “Dearly Beloved” Friend in New Music Video

BorzuRavanOn Friday, Kiesza released her new single, “Dearly Beloved,” along with a music video that fittingly pays tribute to a dearly beloved friend.

In the clip, Kiesza, wearing a bright holographic outfit, rocks out on a white electric guitar against a white background. She explains the guitar’s significance in a message to fans on YouTube.

“When my best friend Alice passed away nearly a year and a half ago, her white electric guitar was passed along to me,” the singer says. “In her memory and because I love her so much, I promised myself that I would not let it sit in its case collecting dust. I was going to play the hell out of it, just as she would have done. So that’s what I’m doing.”

She adds, “Inspired by her and all of you, I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to start off this new chapter with my new song, ‘Dearly Beloved.’”

Kiesza’s last album, Sound of a Woman, came out in 2014. It featured her breakout hit single, “Hideaway.”
