Lady Gaga to Take on Piers Morgan on PTSD and Sexual Assault: “Yes I Can Handle U, Mr. Morgan”

Image Group LA/ABCLady Gaga has been very open about being sexually assaulted at the age of 19, and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. She’s also ready to back up her claims on national TV, after being challenged by British journalist Piers Morgan.

A few days ago, Morgan questioned Gaga’s PTSD reveal, tweeting, “It angers me when celebrities start claiming ‘PTSD’ about everything to promote themselves.” He also referred to the condition as, “the latest celebrity accessory.”

Then, Morgan went so far as to question Gaga’s assertion that she was raped, tweeting, “Lady Gaga & Madonna have both made ALLEGATIONS of rape many years after the event. No police complaint, no charges, no court case…I don’t think all claims of rape should be necessarily accepted as fact without proper criminal investigation, do you?”

Of course, Gaga wasn’t going to stand for that. She wrote to Morgan on Tuesday, “I’ve work[ed] w/ our VP Joe Biden on helping educate people about why women don’t report [rape], would love to share it w/ you some time…would also love to talk with you about PTSD, that it’s not just a ‘military’ disorder. There is a mental health youth epidemic.”

Morgan responded, “OK, you’re on. Let’s do an interview about this & you can tell me why I’m wrong to be sceptical (sic).” He added, “This interview would air worldwide. Reckon you can handle me @ladygaga ?”

Gaga responded, “Let’s do that & yes Mr. Morgan, I can handle u. Surprised you would question that. Was that the 1st question of our interview?”

“Yes!” he responded. “OK @ladygaga, we have a deal. I’ll get my people to contact your people. It’s an important debate.” He added, “I rather admire @ladygaga for agreeing to an interview after my criticisms. Should be a fascinating debate. I’ll press my meat suit.”

Gaga didn’t like that. She then tweeted, “if you continue to shame me in the process of kindly agreeing to interview w/ u I’ll happily do the interview with someone else.”
